Agrotechnology — General Information

Agrotechnology is the basis of Brazilian agribusiness. It ensures increased economic and productive efficiency to meet the demands of society. Agrotechnology refers to any technology applied to agricultural production, including the management of crops, planted and natural forests and animals. In addition to management technologies, Agrotechnology also encompasses the processes of production and application of inputs, vaccines, ambience and machines for use in the agricultural environment. The theme was selected based on the recognized experience and competence of the UFV in scientific production and training of human resources in Agrotechnology. This theme also involves the technologies developed and made available to society, such as new cultivars of plant species, vaccines for animal diseases, pest and disease control, irrigation control technologies, among others

Goals

  • Training human resources with international experience in Agrotechnology.
  • Consolidating international partnerships in Agrotechnology through the granting of scholarships for sending UFV faculty as visiting professors to international institutions and hosting international visiting professors at UFV
  • Promoting short term courses and / or regular classes graduate programs to be conducted at the UFV by international professors in partnership with our faculty.
  • Developing Agrotechnology joint research projects with international groups.
